5931 Beam Clamp Load Testing - Vertical Pull Test | Co-Mac
At Co-Mac, we test our products for safety and performance. Recently, we ran a pull test on our 5931 Beam Clamp. This clamp is used to support things like pipework, HVAC units, and other suspended items.
The Test Setup
Here’s how we set up the test:
- We simulated a vertical pull, similar to how the clamp is used in real-life applications.
- Because our hydraulic testing press pulls upwards, we mounted the 5931 Beam Clamp upside down to replicate the real-world load direction.
- The goal was to see how the clamp handled increasing loads and measure its load profile.
Why Test Beam Clamps?
Beam clamps like the 5931 are essential for safely suspending equipment like:
- Pipework
- HVAC units
- Other hanging equipment
These clamps are often used with our Rubber Lined Pipe Clamps to secure pipes, reduce vibrations, and cut down noise. With a 150kg load rating, it’s critical that these clamps can handle their rated loads to prevent damage or accidents.
Test Process: Gradual Load Increase
We performed the test by:
- Gradually increasing the load, starting from 0 kg.
- Adding weight in a controlled way and recording the results.
- Tracking key moments where performance shifts happened.
Test Findings: Performance Under Load
Here’s what we found:
- The 5931 Beam Clamp performed extremely well, even at high loads.
- It achieved a high maximum load before showing any signs of stress.
- The clamp stayed strong and reliable in vertical pull applications, like suspending HVAC units or pipework.
- We saw a steady performance as we increased the weight.
Our Commitment to Quality
This test is just one part of how we make sure our products meet the highest standards of safety and performance. At Co-Mac, we are committed to delivering reliable, high-quality hardware for your projects.
