3 Types of Drop T Latches
There are 3 main types of Drop T Latches, these are:
- Single Point Drop T
- Three Point Drop T
- 8mm Shaft Drop T
From the front these all look the same, but there are differences with the back mechanism on all three latches. All three latches are available in Stainless Steel or Zinc Plated finish with Locking and Non-Locking Options.
Single Point Drop T Latch
Single Point Drop T Latches have a robust single point rear mechanism that is suitable for toolboxes, door locks and many other industry applications.

Options
This latch comes in Zinc Plated or Stainless Steel with Locking or Non-Locking options. Keyed Alike option is available.How It Operates
The handle is raised and rotates 90° to turn the tongue. The offset tongue can be adjusted to fit panel thickness from 43mm to 55mm.3 Point Drop T Latches
3 Point Drop T Latches are used to secure longer doors either horizontally or vertically. The center latch makes for easy operation with the 2 rods and 3rd point from the latch securing the door in multiple places.
3585 - 3 Point Drop T Latch Stainless Steel
Options
The 2 or 3 Point Drop T Latch comes in Zinc Plated or Stainless Steel with Locking or Non-Locking options. Keyed Alike option is available. The latch can be purchased on its own or as a full kit containing x1 latch, x2 rods (1150mm length) and x2 rod guides.How It Operates
The latch has a straight tongue that fits a panel thickness of 27mm with 2 mounting holes to attach rods to, making it a three-point latch. The 3 point latch covers a large surface area to keep doors closed evenly and tightly. Lift the handle and rotate 90° to turn the tongue and release the rods. 8mm Shaft Drop T Latch
8mm Shaft Drop T Latches are typically used in unique applications where neither of the above two options will work.
2673 - 8mm Square Shaft Drop T Latch Stainless Steel
Options
Zinc Plated or Stainless Steel Locking only. Keyed Alike options are available.How It Operates
This latch comes with drop T handle, cam lock face and 8mm square shaft on the back. Raise the handle and turn to rotate the 8mm shaft. The 8mm shaft fits a range of accessories. For single point latching it is recommended to use the Single Point Drop T Latch.Accessories for Drop T Latches
5730 - Backing Plate for Drop T Latches
Backing Plates strengthen the mounting point and create an easy template for cutting and drilling holes.
3552 - Replacement Seal for Non-Locking Drop T Latches
3553 - Replacement Seal for Locking Drop T Latches
Drop T Latches come supplied with gaskets for sealing. If required replacement Gaskets can be bought for locking and non-locking Drop T Latches
