You Won't Believe What We're Making
For years and years we have wondered what it would take to bring the Co-Mac boy to life but never quite got around to it. Until we met the extemely helpful Natalie from 4 Leaf Factory who quite happily said "sure, I'll do that!".A month later and we're only a week or so off having this happy young character join us in the flesh as a part of our team here at Co-Mac in Palmerston North. The first step was to take The Co-Mac Boy as he currently existed in cartoon form and match him up with real world colour, textures and fabrics. We had to find material for is overalls, boots, skin, shirt and even his hair!Next up was to shape his head from plaztozote foam. Natalie did an awesome job of bringing the two dimensional cartoon into this three dimensional world. He looks just like the drawing.Next up the fabrics we selected earlier needed to be added to the sculpture to bring him to life. And boy - what a difference it makes! He's not quite finished yet so make sure to follow our facebook page to keep in the loop with his finishing touches. You might even catch his happy face serving you at the counter on your next visit here at Co-Mac!
